We have had a fun summer with late nights and semi-late mornings (sleeping until 7AM is late for us…we don’t want to miss the fun.) Especially this sweet/punctual girl pictured below…she comes into our room dressed and ready for the day. She is ready to lead somebody somewhere.
And we got to spend a few hours cheering this never-giving up, hardworking guy on at a soccer tournament. It frustrates him when others don’t take the game seriously. He gives his all. You have got to see how excited this little man can get.
And Ben and Lydia were able to go to Carmel Kidz Boot Camp @ Look-up Lodge. They had a fabulous time of zip-lining, surviving the mud run and diving into God’s Word. Lydia memorized several Scripture verses while there…such an important discipline that often gets overlooked in the busyness of life. Despite the 20+ ant bites she received, she did have a blast and is excited about going next year.
And we had a t-shirt drive….for our adoption. Thank you all for purchasing one. We raised over $500 in the sale and over $700 in flat donations. Yay! To God be the Glory. Shine On!
And then we had car trouble….but God showed up. We only had to pay $500 of a $1000 car repair bill. I am studying Gideon (Priscilla Shirer study…good stuff, btw) and was reminded that “My weakness is the key to unlocking God’s strength.” I pray to God that he may give me neither poverty nor riches! Give me just enough to satisfy my needs. For if I grow rich, I may deny you and say, “Who is the LORD?” Proverbs 30:8-9
And then we got to travel to Franklin, NC for the annual McGaha Family Reunion. It was great to reconnect with family, play in the cold creek and just be thankful for the legacy left by Grandmother and Paw Paw.
We know that there is room on that car for at least one more cousin. 🙂
We are praying through several options in the whole Guyana adoption process. We ask that you pray for discernment and wisdom for everyone involved. I am sorry that we don’t have a lot of details to give you…we are taking this one day at a time, trusting in His presence.
Thanks again for your support! We truly are thankful.
